Supplying Your Garden

Add Gravel To Dirt-Covered Terrain

If your property borders a patch of woodlands, adding gravel to line the pathway that you use while exploring outdoors will prevent dirt sections from getting muddy. An adjustable gravel drag that is designed to be connected to an ATV can be used to evenly disperse gravel across dirt-covered terrain.

The Aesthetical And Physical Properties

Pea gravel, small quartz chips, or limestone pieces will add color and texture to your property. If you would prefer to add a multi-colored hardscaping material to your land, several varieties of gravel can be mixed together, prior to dumping it onto the ground and using a gravel drag to spread it. Gravel pieces will prevent rainwater from collecting on flat or indented surfaces. Additionally, it will provide the traction you may need while hiking through a heavily-forested region.

Materials You Will Need

The Preparations

Determine how much of the dirt-covered walkway you would like to cover with gravel pieces. Measure the width and length of this area. Decide how deep you would like the gravel layer to be. The variables associated with the dimensions and depth can be given to a gravel supplier. If you will be creating a blend of gravel that contains more than one distinct type of gravel, order equal amounts of each gravel type.

Use buckets to prepare a blend of gravel. Attach a dump trailer to your ATV and dump a load of gravel into the trailer. Use plastic sheeting and stakes to cover grass that is located along the side of the pathway. Use stakes to secure the sheeting materials. Drive your ATV to the edge of the area where gravel will be placed. Dump the gravel onto the ground. Reload the trailer with more gravel as needed.

The Use Of A Drag

A metal drag that is adjustable allows an end user to control the width and depth level of the apparatus that will be spreading aggregate materials. A drag is a piece of garden equipment that can be used to spread a variety of organic and non-organic materials.

Before a drag for ATV is hooked up, the width of the area that will be covered with aggregate materials should be assessed, to tailor the size of the drag. Afterward, the drag can be adjusted and the ATV can be used to spread the material throughout the area where the gravel pieces were initially dumped.
